How we make money, how we rank results, and why you can trust us.
How costfeed.co makes money
When you click a link on costfeed.co and buy a product, the retailer pays us a small commission. This is called affiliate marketing. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is exactly the same whether you click through us or go directly to the store. This commission is how we keep the lights on and the site free to use.
Affiliate Partners
These are the affiliate programmes we currently participate in:
- Amazon Associates (tag: costfeed21-21) — 1-4% commission depending on product category.
- eBay Partner Network — 1-4% commission depending on product category.
Our Promise
- Results are always sorted by price. Commission never influences ranking.
- Every affiliate link is clearly labelled.
- We never promote a product because the commission is higher.
- Our consensus price is computed from real market data, not influenced by advertisers.
The Consensus Formula
Every search on costfeed.co produces a consensus price — a single number that represents the fair market value of a product right now. It is calculated using a trimmed-mean algorithm across all available listings, weighted by source reliability and recency. No single retailer can skew the number. Look for the “Why this number?” link on any search result to see exactly how the consensus was computed, including confidence level and the data points used.
